Forgotten spaces 1

This pack is a collection of various impulse responses from unique "Forgotten Spaces", and contains the following locations:

Thor's Cave
Thor's Cave is a natural cavern in the Manifold Valley of the White Peak in The Peak District. The cave entrance is approximately 7.5 metres wide, and about 10 metres tall.
It is believed that Thor's Cave had human habitation during the Palaeolithic period, with it being a burial site during the Iron Age and Roman period.
The cave has also been used as a location in various media, such as in the video for 'Blue' by The Verve, and a location in the 1988 film 'The Lair of the White Worm'.

Beech Caves (Rave Cave)
Beech Caves are man made caves in Staffordshire situated in sandstone rock. The caves were constructed as a quarry and rock cottages with early references in the mid-1800s.
The caves were used for storage for the army during World War 2, and were off-limits.
The caves are rather large, and in recent years have become more commonly known as the 'Rave Cave' due to it being a frequent venue for illegal raves. The caves have a considerable amount of litter and graffiti decorating the caves, in addition to various structural brickwork.

Coseley Tunnel
Coseley Tunnel sits on the Birmingham to Wolverhampton canal (that was first built in 1769). In the 1800s however the canal went through significant improvements with the Coseley Tunnel being built between 1829 and 1837 by Thomas Telford.
The Grade II listed tunnel is 360 yards long, and has a tow-path either side, and is only used for leisure traffic now.

Netherton Tunnel
The Netherton Tunnel was opened in 1858 and was built to connect The Dudley Canal and The Birmingham Canal, and is one of the longest canal tunnels in the UK at 1.7 miles long (at over 3000 yards long), and has approximately 4.9 metres clearance and 8.2 metres tunnel width.
The tunnel was the last canal tunnel built during the canal age, and has 16 air-vents (eyes), which are known commonly as the "pepper-pots".

Cobb's Engine House
Cobb's Engine House (also known as Windmill End Pumping Station) sits just at the mouth of Netherton Canal Tunnel, and is a grade II listed building built around 1831.
This housed a steam pump used to remove water from nearby mines into the Dudley No. 2 canal. It closed around 1925 due to continued strikes in the mines, with the engine that was housed there relocated to the Henry Ford Museum in Michigan.

Lilleshall Abbey
Lilleshall Abbey was founded in 1148 for a communion of Augustinian canons and remained an Abbey until the mid-1500s when it became a private residence.
Lilleshall Abbey was ruined during the English civil war, however in its' prime it once boasted of hosting royal visitors such as King Richard II.
The following two spaces were captured at Lilleshall Abbey:

Parlour - it has two doors, and acted as an entrance for the canons into the abbey.

Sacristy - the room and its' contents were the responsibility of the sacrist (one of the senior members of the abbey community), it would house contents for religious ceremonies.
